このサイトは絵描きデザイナー・Yohei cocologue Sakai の作品を取り扱うショップです。
創作の原点は、アパレルバイヤーとして訪れたニューヨークでの9.11同時多発テロの影響です。その衝撃と混沌の中、人々が悲しみと怒りに揺れながら、次第に戦争を容認していく様を目の当たりにしました。
その出来事が心に深く残り、表現への衝動が芽生え、初作「NOWARLISA」という作品を2006年に創ったのが活動の始まりです。
この作品は世界で知らない人はいないであろうもっとも有名な絵画「Mona Lisa」に「NO WAR」を掛け合わせ、戦争反対というメッセージを視覚的に強く印象付ける意図がありました。
その後は独学でグラフィック、ステンシル、コラージュ、シルクスクリーン、カリグラフィーなど、様々な手法を取り入れながら、ジャンルにとらわれない自由なスタイルで創作。
日本を拠点にしながら,個展やライブペインティング、シルクスクリーンのポップアップなどを精力的に展開。
二ューヨークで展示やライブペイント、ブルックリンのホテルでは壁画を制作。これまでに、ドイツのカフェ兼イベントスペースのロゴ、音楽メディアのアートワーク、衣装・アパレルデザイン、企業ロゴ制作など、国内外問わずコラボレーションを行い、常に“自分にとっての新しさを探し求めている。

The roots of his creative journey trace back to a life-changing experience: witnessing the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks during a trip to New York as a fashion buyer. Amid the chaos and emotional turmoil, he saw how people, shaken by grief and anger, gradually began to accept the idea of war.
That experience left a deep imprint on his heart and sparked a powerful question: *“What is war?”*
From this question, a creative impulse was born. In 2006, he released his first artwork, **“NOWARLISA”**, marking the beginning of his artistic career.
The piece is a visual fusion of the iconic *Mona Lisa* and the anti-war message “NO WAR”—a bold, symbolic statement against war using one of the most universally recognized images in art history.
Humans are creatures who forget.
In some ways, it’s how we survive. But there are things we must never forget.
War is still close to us, even now.
As a father wishing for a peaceful world where his children can grow up safely, he continues to live each day balancing art and parenting.

**Artist Statement**
Yohei Sakai is a self-taught artist who explores a wide range of expressive techniques—including graphic design, stenciling, collage, silkscreen, and calligraphy—to create works through his own unique lens. His art defies conventional categories, resulting in a distinctive, genre-free style.
Based in Niigata, Japan, he actively showcases his work through solo exhibitions, live painting performances, and silkscreen pop-up events.
Internationally, he has exhibited and performed in New York, painted a mural in a Brooklyn hotel, and collaborated on a variety of projects—from café logos in Germany and music media artwork, to fashion design and corporate branding.
He is always in pursuit of his own sense of “newness.”
